We're seeking a Senior Buyer, Strategic Components to lead sourcing, supplier management, and procurement strategy for critical electronic components supporting advanced technology products used in semiconductor, metrology, solar, display, and other high-tech industries.

What You'll Do
- Own strategic sourcing for electronic components and critical commodities
- Manage supplier and distributor relationships to support cost, quality, delivery, and inventory goals
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that reduce supply chain risk
- Lead supplier negotiations, selection, and qualification activities
- Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, lead times, and component availability
- Drive End-of-Life (EOL), Product Discontinuance, and Last Time Buy initiatives
- Identify and mitigate component obsolescence risks using lifecycle management tools
- Create and manage purchase orders within ERP/MRP systems
- Serve as the primary procurement contact for assigned customer programs
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Production, and Customer teams to support business objectives
- Improve purchasing processes, supplier performance, and ERP data accuracy
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of purchasing, strategic sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain experience
- Experience sourcing electronic components within a manufacturing environment
- Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
- Background supporting OEM, EMS, contract manufacturing, or high-mix/low-volume production environments
- Experience with component lifecycle management, obsolescence planning, and supply continuity strategies
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems; Syspro experience is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Background
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field
- Experience managing strategic electronic component suppliers and distributors
- Experience leading EOL, Last Time Buy, and supply risk mitigation projects
- Semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, or high-technology industry experience
